Wi-Green

Project WI-GREEN

Project Objectives

Proef, in partnership with INESCTEC, proposes to develop new solutions that allow reducing the energy consumption of Wi-Fi access points (APs) in indoor environments.

WI-GREEN is also part of SooGREEN, a project associated with the European cluster Celtic-Plus/Eureka, composed of a consortium of 16 companies led by Orange France, which started in 2015 and is expected to last 36 months.
SooGREEN intends to explore different solutions to optimize energy consumption in communication services/networks, as a result of the need to reduce energy consumption, taking into account traffic evolutions and explore new network architectures, keeping in mind the development of smart networks in order to leverage topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Grids.
